Tired of walking those rock features? Wondering why some people roll right over them with ease, but you find yourself stopping every time? In this clinic, we will help you build confidence riding rock features, both climbing and descending, with some real time on the trail to test out the skills.
Skills you will learn and apply in this clinic:
Pedal ratcheting to navigate technical terrain both uphill and downhill
Line choice
Climbing and descending rock gardens/rock features on green and blue rated trails
Safe stopping and dismounting in rock gardens
Trails we will ride: Landslide and Chukar Butte.
For our Features Clinics we ask that participants have:
Flat pedals (vs clipless) for safety
An understanding of safe braking techniques (single finger braking) and bike/body separation (comfortable with getting out of the saddle)
A bike helmet and a bike in good working condition
Ideally, you also have a dropper post so your seat can lower when riding these features
We recommend you have attended a beginner skills clinic and/or are familiar with the foundational skills
These clinics are for riders who want to move from beginner to intermediate and are ready to tackle some fun features on the trail in a supportive, safe environment with other women.
