How We Spend the Off-Season

The riding season is full of long trail days, dusty high-fives, and memories made with our Crank Queens community. But what happens when the temperatures drop, the trails get slick, and the daylight hours shrink? Do we just hang up our bikes until spring?

Not a chance. The off-season is where the magic happens. Here’s how we use this time to reset, recharge, and get ready for an even stronger season ahead.

1. Strength & Mobility Work

The off-season is the perfect time to focus on building a stronger foundation. In the rush of summer rides, it’s easy to neglect the gym or skip mobility work. But winter gives us space to:

  • Build strength in our legs, core, and upper body

  • Work on stability and balance for more control on the bike

  • Improve mobility to keep our joints healthy and ready for action

Every rep in the gym is an investment in more power, endurance, and confidence on the trail.

2. Recovery & Reset

The off-season isn’t just about doing more, it’s about doing less, on purpose. We use this time to:

  • Sleep more and work on healthy recovery habits

  • Let our bodies heal from the wear and tear of peak season

  • Enjoy activities outside of biking (snow sports, yoga, hiking) that keep us moving without burning us out

Rest is not lazy, it’s what allows us to come back stronger.

3. Community & Connection

One of the best parts of Crank Queens is the community. Just because we’re not riding as much doesn’t mean we stop gathering. The off-season is when we:

The trail might be quieter, but the sisterhood is still loud and strong.

Off-Season Mindset

The off-season isn’t about “losing” riding time, it’s about setting the stage for your best season yet. By focusing on strength, skills, recovery, and community, we roll into spring ready to ride harder, feel stronger, and have more fun.

So while winter might look different than summer, it’s far from a break. It’s our chance to rebuild, recharge, and reconnect, so when the trails dry out, we’re more than ready to shred.
